about

1/4/92 was one of the best days ever. It was my 18th birthday and my band, Guido & The Blowfish, had just played a hell of a set the night before. That morning, my dad took me to Veneman Music, in Springfield, and bought me a bass (so I could quit playing a borrowed one). I picked out a GTX 5-string which is a cool looking bass but, in retrospect, I should have gotten a Fender Jazz, but that GTX served me well for the next 17 years or so.

Because I am me, my 18th birthday party was a massive jam session, in the front room at my house. Guido & The Blowfish performed, including lots of songs that we did not usually play, and there were lots of guests and all-star jams. We played for hours and it was so much fun (i think we played until the cops came). This recording is sourced from VHS and I can't tell you how much longer it went, or what we played after it cut off, but I am more than thrilled that this document exists.
